Dear Member,
Enclosed is the latest Dates for Your Diary. Some of the details for Area qualifiers are a bit sketchy at the moment but we will let you have more details nearer the time.
Remember to book with me soon to come to the Graham Potts lecture on 21st February at Summerhill Golf Club, Hay-on-Wye, if you want to eat.
Karasel in Peterchurch have enclosed a letter for you all with details of a monthly discount scheme. The Offer on rugs continues through February - so if your horse has not stayed dry in the current wet weather, now is an excellent time to take advantage of their offer. We apologise for not getting their letters out in January but we were waiting on date confirmations for some of our events.
We have now booked the first aid course as we have got the minimum number to run it. Anyone who has not already booked and wants to take part, please contact me soon. I am sure those of you who know what happened to Will this summer will not be surprised to know, now he is riding again, that I shall be doing the course!
I hope all of you planning a competitive summer, or just wanting a pop down to a local show, will come to our informal showjumping shows at the end of March and April. We hope to try to run these regularly through the summer and will add dressage if there is enough demand.
I hope all of you have 15th June for our Area 15 Novice Dressage Qualifier in your diaries. We do need help to run this show and the more people that volunteer, the less everyone will have to do. Don't worry if you have never helped with anything like this before - all that is required is some enthusiasm and a sense of humour. The people competing are only other riding clubbers, just like you.
As well as the dressage qualifier, on the same day we shall be running showjumping classes, combined training classes and dressage classes that are open to all.
Some of you have been cross country schooling with us at Home Farm, Ewyas Harold. Will and Maddy Bradley, who run Home Farm, are planning a Walk the Course with William Blane on Thursday 4th April at approx 6pm. There will also be trade stands, a barbeque and a table top tack sale. £5 per person. As Will and Maddy are GVRC members we hope you will come and support them.
Hope you are staying dry and your stable roof has not blown off!
Best wishes.
Anna
