Re: Membership Renewal for 2009/10
We have not written to members directly before about subscription renewals, relying instead on reminders in the newsletters. However, this has resulted in some confusion about when subscriptions are due and, with the charges from British Riding Clubs at Stoneleigh going up, we need to get our subscriptions in on time so we can afford to pay BRC our insurance and affiliation levy promptly. We are also getting issues with BRC about whether members are qualified to be team members - payment of your subscription is a requirement for that too.
The club year runs from 1st November to 31st October each year, so subscriptions are due on 1st November. This is regardless of when you paid previously - BRC charge us for every member for a whole year from 1st November. There is no rebate because someone joined part the way through the year! The committee has decided, therefore, that members that help by paying promptly will have their membership fee maintained at least for this year at £25 per person. Anyone who pays after 30th November 2009 will need to pay £30 to renew their membership.
I am also enclosing a standing order form as some of you may find it easier to pay this way. Provided the form is returned before 30th November 2009, the membership fee will remain at £25 per person. Thereafter it will be £30.
When you send in your cheque or standing order form, please let us know of any change of address, telephone/mobile number or email address.
